Installation for Mohawk 2" Faux Wood Blinds
Installing your new blinds is as easy as 1-2-3.
Tools Needed:
- Electric or cordless drill with a 1/4" nut driver or a slotted screwdriver bit
- A pencil
- Ladder or step stool
Inside Mount Blind Installation
- Set-Up
Below are the items needed to install your first blind.
- Two brackets (labeled Left and Right) for each blind
- Screws
- Valance Clips
- Center support brackets (for blinds over 52 inches wide)
- All tools listed above
- Installing the mounting brackets
Notice the mounting brackets are labeled according to their respective side (LH and RH). Open one and place it on the proper side of the window opening. Then do the following in order:
- Mark two diagonal holes in each bracket (L and R) with a pencil (Figure 1)
- Drill a 1" depth hole where you marked with the pencil (this step can be eliminated if you feel you can drive the screws directly in with your drill or screwdriver. (Figure 2)
- Place the bracket and secure with the provided screws with either a nut driver or slotted screwdriver bit attachment. (Figure 2)
- Unwind cords from inside head rail and attach hidden clear valance clips on front of head rail about 18” apart
- Slide blind into the left and right brackets and close hinge doors on brackets
- If your blind is over 52" wide, it will come with a center support bracket. The purpose of this bracket is to prevent sagging on larger blinds. Here's the easiest way to install: First, hang the head rail in the already installed left and right brackets. Next, slide the center support bracket on the head rail and mark its location with a pencil. (Figure 3) Now, take the head rail down and mount the center support bracket with the included hardware screws. Replace the head rail over all 3 brackets and close the 2 outside brackets.
- Unwind cords from inside head rail and attach hidden clear valance clips on front of head rail about 18” apart (Figure 4)
- Slide blind into the left and right brackets and close hinge doors on brackets
- Install valance, hidden clips snap into the back center of valance (Figure 5)
Congratulations your new blinds are installed!
Outside Mount Blind Installation

Below are the items needed to install your first blind.
- Two brackets (labeled Left and Right) for each blind
- Screws
- Valance Clips
- Center support brackets (for blinds over 52 inches wide)
- All tools listed above
- Installing the mounting brackets
Hold the blind head rail directly over the top of the window and place it exactly where it looks centered. Make a mark to the left and right of the head rail to mark its position (Figure 1). Now place a mark approximately 1/8" outside of these two lines. This will be where the bracket is mounted. (Figure 2)
Notice the mounting brackets are labeled according to their respective side (LH and RH). Open one hinge of the mounting bracket. Then do the following in order:
- Mark two holes in the back (Figure 3) or top if applicable with the bracket positioned where you made your second mark (Figure 2)
- Drill a 1" depth hole where you marked with the pencil (this step can be eliminated if you feel you can drive the screws directly in with your drill or screwdriver. (Figure 4)
- Place the bracket and secure with the provided screws with either a nut driver or slotted screwdriver bit attachment. (Figure 4 )
- Unwind cords from inside head rail and attach hidden clear valance clips on front of head rail about 18” apart (Figure 5)
- Slide blind into the left and right brackets and close hinge doors on brackets
- If your blind is over 72" wide, it will come with a center support bracket. The purpose of this bracket is to prevent sagging on larger blinds. Here's the easiest way to install: First, hang the head rail in the already installed left and right brackets. Next, slide the center support bracket on the head rail and mark its location with a pencil. Now, take the head rail down and mount the center support bracket with the included hardware screws. Replace the head rail over all 3 brackets and close the 2 outside brackets
- Install valance, hidden clips snap into the back center of valance (Figure 6)
- Optional Hold-Down Brackets
- We provide hold-down brackets with all orders and at no charge. The purpose of these brackets is to hold down the bottom rail. Release the lift cord on the blind. With the blind all the way down, place the hold down bracket in the groove on the right and left side of the blind. Mark its location with a pencil. Install the bracket and secure with the hardware screws provided.
